Our involvement

• Geotechnical site investigation across 25ha greenfield site selected for new regional hospital
• Combined with extensive Contamination investigations, including SAQP plan, PSI and DSI reports, and Remediation Action Plans
• Development of digital 3D ground model of site using Leapfrog software
• Specialist Engineering Assessment (SEA) on impacts to rail corridor
• Numerical modelling (using Plaxis software) for deformation analyses for pile design

Project challenges

No specific challenges other than borehole drilling through very hard volcanic Latite rock, which required more powerful drilling rigs.

The latter part of the fieldwork program was postponed due to the Covid 19 epidemic.

Our solutions

We were able to complete the extensive site investigation within budget and to client program.

Our analytical team was able to support the project structural engineering consultant with the required pile deformation analyses during detailed design phase of the project.
